Mosaic is a powerful window manager that allows easy repositioning and resizing of macOS apps, transforming multi-window chaos into a productive suite of tools. This 58-1/2' x 7-5/8' x 12-3/4' box keeps batteries safe and secure. Heavy-gauge aluminum is lightweight and rustproof. Powder coated outer frame is durable. Includes hold-down straps, locking lid, access hole for wiring, and hardware.
Seamless macOS integration
Mosaic has been meticulously designed to feel like an integrated component of macOS — and not like a standalone app. The result is a seamless and intuitive experience that feels as good to use as it looks.
Fully Customisable Layouts
Rather than limit you to a list of simple preset layouts, Mosaic lets you create any layout you like with a powerful suite of layout creation tools. You can simply paint a layout on a grid or achieve absolute control with numerical constraints.

Summary
When modelling elevations, surfaces, or terrains, aerial vehicles (such as aircrafts or helicopters) are used to capture data of the study area. Due to limitations in data extent capture by a single vehicle, multiple shots are taken to cover the study region. The larger the study area, the higher the number of raster datasets produced. Multiple raster datasets are merged into a new raster dataset to aid in visualization and analysis of the study region.
In ArcGIS Pro, multiple raster datasets are merged using either the Mosaic To New Raster tool, or the Mosaic Rasters function. The table below compares both methods.
Mosaic To New Raster | Mosaic Rasters | |
Mechanism | Geoprocessing tool | Raster function |
Output | A new raster dataset is displayed in the Contents pane. The output is stored in the geodatabase specified in the Output Location field. | A new temporary raster dataset is displayed in the Contents pane. The output is not stored in any geodatabase. |
Able to define the output extension when storing in a file format? | Yes | No |
Able to define the pixel type? | Yes | Yes |
Able to define the cell size? | Yes | No |
Able to process multidimensional raster layer? | No | Yes |
Able to define number of bands? | Yes. All raster input must have the same number of bands. | No. It is not necessary for all raster input to have the same number of bands. |
Able to define the Mosaic Colormap Mode? | Yes | No |

Procedure
Choose one of the methods described to merge multiple raster datasets into a new raster dataset in ArcGIS Pro.
Mosaic To New Raster tool
- In ArcGIS Pro, open the geoprocessing tool, and search for Mosaic To New Raster.
- In the Mosaic To New Raster pane, configure the parameters as follows:
- For Input Rasters, select all the raster datasets to merge. In this example, they are 090160.tif, 090161.tif, and 090162.tif.
- For Output Location, specify the desired geodatabase. In this example, it is Amberg.gdb.
- For Raster Dataset Name with Extension, specify the output name. In this example, it is Merge_MosaicToNewRaster.
- For Spatial Reference for Raster, specify the spatial reference of the output layer. In this example, it is the same as the input reference, which is Deutsches_Hauptdreiecksnetz_Transverse_Mercator.
- For Pixel Type, specify the same value as the input. In this example, it is 8 bit unsigned.
- For Number of Bands, specify the same value as the input. In this example, it is 3.
- For Mosaic Operator, select the method used to merge overlapping raster datasets. In this example, it is the default option, Last.
- For Mosaic Colormap Mode, select the color map from the input rasters to apply to the mosaic output. In this example, it is the default option, First.
- Click Run.
The output raster stitches all input raster datasets into a single raster dataset.
A new dataset is displayed in Contents and is created in the specified geodatabase.
Mosaic Rasters function
Pro 1 Myanmar
- In ArcGIS Pro, click either the Analysis or Imagery tab, and select Raster Functions.
- In the Raster Functions pane, navigate to System > Data Management > Mosaic Rasters.
- In the Mosaic Rasters Properties pane, configure the parameters on the Parameters tab as follows:
- For Rasters, specify all raster datasets to merge. In this example, they are 090160.tif, 090161.tif, and 090162.tif.
- For Operation, specify the method used to merge overlapping rasters. In this example, it is the default option, Blend.
- Click Create new layer.
The image below shows three raster datasets stitched into a single raster dataset. The new temporary raster dataset is displayed in Contents, but not in any geodatabase.
